Das Wort persona rührt einem der möglichen Erklärungsmodelle zufolge vom lateinischen per-sonare her und setzt damit ein Wort für einen Menschen für das, was durchs klingen deutlich wird, was hindurchklingt. Eine andere Bedeutung ist Maske, Rolle, Charakter.
Und weil wir alle an einem bestimmten Ort zur Welt kommen und darum mit einer bestimmten, zufälligen Verortung, Kultur und Geschichte, so beschreibt es Odo Markward mit Humor und Menschlichkeit, brauchen wir unsere Vielheit und Buntheit in Raum und Zeit, wenn wir das Ganze erfassen oder auch nur irgendwie erahnen wollen.
Und Bruno Latour wiederum plädiert dafür zu landen – ‚où aterrir?‘ – „Wir brauchen Mittel, um diese neue Welt beschreiben zu können. Nicht die Sicht eines Außenstehenden. Nein, wir müssen uns beschreiben.“

According to one possible explanation, the word persona derives from the Latin per-sonare, and thus refers to a person in terms of what becomes clear through sound, what resonates through. Another meaning is ‚mask’, ‘role’ or ‘character’.
And because we are all born in a specific place and therefore, as Odo Markward describes with humour and humanity, with a specific, random location, culture and history, we need our diversity and colourfulness in space and time if we want to grasp the whole or even just begin to imagine it.
Bruno Latour, for his part, argues in favour of ‘landing’ – ‘où aterrir?’ – „We need tools to be able to describe this new world. Not the perspective of an external observer. No, we must describe ourselves.“
